Tiwari + Lazaroff = Genius

Vishnu Tiwari and Timothy Lazaroff were recently named Floral Park Memorial High School’s valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively.

Tiwari has augmented his future through countless hours of science research and mentoring and tutoring of other students. He has 770 on his Math Level 2 and 800, a perfect score, on US History and Chemistry in SAT subject tests.

Tiwari is currently enrolled in AP Calculus AB and has a 100 average. This year, Vishnu will continue his research in the pharmacological properties of Capadulla, a West Indian medicinal herb but will work with Lumbiculus variegatus (a black earthworm which is used in labs and stresses the circulatory system, but can be used for the study of homeostasis, behavior, toxicology and the nervous system).  Tiwari also participated in the Long Island Science and Engineering Fair.

As a President of BuildOn, Lazaroff helped raise over $30,000 for a trip to Nicaragua where he helped build a school.  He loves baseball and while in Nicaragua, he brought a Whiffle ball and bat with him and brought together the whole community through a simple game of baseball on the side of a mountain, where everyone was able to communicate when they couldn’t speak the same language.

Lazaroff helped lead the varsity volleyball team to a Nassau County Championship.  He has drawn interest from Northwestern and Stanford University.

Lazaroff’s success in the classroom, earning a GPA of 102.2, and his contributions in numerous sports, have earned him the respect of students and faculty alike.
