The Music Man
Plainview Jewish Center, located at 95 Floral Drive in Plainview, will be putting on a production of the beloved musical The Music Man on March 16, 17, 23 and 24. The show will start at 8:15 p.m. on March 16 and 23, and 3 p.m. on March 17 and 24. Tickets are $20 each for the first two seats, $54 for three seats, and $18 for each additional seat. Long Island Guitar Festival
A weeklong celebration of musical performances, workshops and master classes will take place at the 21st Annual Long Island Guitar Festival at LIU Post from March 17 – 24. The festival will feature internationally renowned musicians including John Williams and John Etheridge, Gyan Riley, William Kanengiser, Eden- Stell Duo, Dennis Koster, Matt Palmer and Artesian Collaborative. The festival, directed by Harris Becker, is an annual international festival presented by the Department of Music in the School of Visual and Performing Arts at LIU Post. Festival sponsors include the D’Addario Foundation for the Performing Arts, the Augustine Foundation, Savarez, Sam Ash, Murphy’s Music, LIU’s John P. McGrath Fund and dedicated individuals.

Senior Pops Orchestra

Midway Movies: The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel
Monday Night at the Midway Movies is an adult education program at Midway Jewish Center where people gather not just to watch great movies, but also to view and review them with Jewish eyes. All films are shown with English subtitles for anyone with listening challenges.Admission is free and the public is welcome. In this week’s film, a group of British retirees move to India where their assets will grant them greater earning power over a longer period of time. It sounds good, until they arrive at their hotel residence, which has clearly passed its prime. PG-13, 124 minutes, at 7:30 p.m.

Free Veterinary Lectures
Once a month through December, Long Island Cat Fanciers sponsors free lectures given by top local veterinarians on topics relevant to dog and cat owners. Sign Language Classes
American Sign Language (ASL) classes will be offered by Mill Neck Services for deaf adults on Mondays from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Jan. 7 through March 25, 2013. The 10 sessions of the Level 1 Adult class are being held at the Day Habilitation and Interpreter Services building located at 501 S. Broadway, Suite B, Hicksville.
