Virginia Awards Farmingdale Grad

The William and Mary Alumni Association Botetourt Chapter recently presented Samantha Rozakis, a 2003 graduate of Farmingdale High School, with the Teacher of the Year Award from Mathews County in Virginia. Rozakis is a grades five through eight self-contained special education teacher at Thomas Hunter Middle School in Mathews, VA, who works with students with multiple disabilities. As part of her curriculum, her students cook weekly and run the school’s coffee shop. They also take care of the school’s greenhouse and have started a successful spice business selling their herbs at the farmer’s market and Mathews Welcome Center.
