Little League Season Kicks Off

The New Hyde Park Little League Parade snaked through the village Saturday, April 6, kicking off start of the 2013 season. American Legion Post 1089 and VFW Post 8031 led the parade.

The plethora of youngsters wearing their team uniforms as they marched behind their team banners started from Applebee’s on across from Village Hall, headed west on Jericho Turnpike before turning south on Covert Avenue to

Stewart Avenue and arriving at Nuzzi Field where they lined up just off of the infield for the opening day ceremony.

Mayor Robert Lofaro, Trustee Lawrence Montreuil and village justice Chris Devane walked in the parade. Lofaro threw out the first pitch.

New York State Senator Jack Martins, Assemblyman Edward Ra and Nassau County Legislator Richard Nicolello also attended the parade.
