Valerie M. Pereira, 53, passed away on April 2. Devoted wife of Avelino. Beloved mother of Thomas (Kate) and Daniel. Cherished daughter of Marjorie Mahoney and the late Walter Smithing. Dear sister of Robert (Maddy) Smithing and Gary (Kristin) Smithing. Loving sister-in-law of Gloria (rocco), Zulmira (John), Arminda (Manny), Eulampia (Mort) and loving daughter-in-law of Floriano and Eulampia. She is survived also by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services were held at the Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Home, Hicksville Chapel, with mass at St. Ignatius R. C. Church. Interment was held at Nassau Knolls Cemetery in Port Washington.
