Carseat Check

Assemblyman Tom McKevitt’s annual car seat safety check will be held on May 24 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Ellsworth W. Allen Park, 45 Motor Avenue in Farmingdale. Appointments are necessary. Email: mckevitt@assembly.state.ny.us or call 516-228-4960 for an appointment. 

Holiday Festival 

The Levittown Chamber of Commerce Festival will be held over Memorial Day weekend, from May 23 through May 27 behind the Tri-County Unique Flea Market on Hempstead Turnpike. Hours: Thursday and Friday from 5 to 11 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday from noon to 11 p.m., and on Monday from noon to 9 p.m. Admission and parking are free.

Bonsai Day

The Cornell Cooperative Extension of Nassau County presents Bonsai Day on May 25 at East Meadow Farm, 832 Merrick Avenue in East Meadow from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Award-winning bonsai displays, and Bonsai Society of Greater New York experts will be available to answer questions. Also, gardeners can bring their bonsai for tips and advice from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Call 516-565-5265 for more information.

Memorial Day Parade

Show your community spirit by marching with down Hempstead Turnpike in the Levittown parade on May 27. Assemble at the Island Trees Middle School off of Wantagh Avenue at 9:30 a.m.

Tuesday, May 28

Preservation Society Meeting

The Wantagh Preservation Society will be having their meeting on May 28 at the Wantagh Public Library, 3285 Park Ave., at 7:30 p.m. All welcome for the Show and Tell event. Bring an historic, antique or unique item you would like to share with the group. This event usually turns into a fun and informative evening. This is a free event with refreshments served. Carnival For A Cure

Relay For Life of Bethpage will hold its Carnival For A Cure, beginning on June 1 at 5 p.m. on the ballfields at Bethpage High School. Visit www.relayforlife.org/bethpageny for information.

Senior ID Program

Senator Kemp Hannon joins Senator Charles Fuschillo and Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano in announcing a free Senior ID Program at the Farmingdale Library on June 5. The program will take place from noon to 4 p.m. Senior citizens, aged 60 and above, can come to the Farmingdale Library to get a free, wallet-sized, ID card. The card includes personal contact information, photo, emergency contact name and phone number, and helpful emergency phone numbers. The Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Levittown Post 9592 will hold their craft fair and spring sale on June 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 55 Hickory Lane in Hicksville.

Classic Car Show

Classic Car Show on July 14 at Bethpage Federal Credit Union at 899 South Oyster Bay Rd in Bethpage. All makes and models welcome. Live performance by one of Long Island’s top doo-wop bands, The Fabularies. Trophies, raffles, vendors, radio broadcast, and more. Download a car registration form at www.corvettesociety.com.
