NHPLL Girls Minor Division
Missing the print deadline NHP’s Mathnasium played Valley Stream coming out on top 5-3 on May 8. Their game on May 11 vs Franklin Square 1 was a rain out. On May 13 the two NHP teams (Mathnasium and Zadnik DDS) faced off. This game ended up being a pitchers battle. Megan Bleeker pitched the entire game for Zadnik, allowing two runs. On the other side Claire Mikowski, Paige Jones and Julia Kuzurock, the new addition, made appearances on the pitching rubber.
The game was tied 2-2 until the fifth inning when Zadnik opened up on Julia K’s first time pitching appearance and scored five runs, one earned, to take the lead 5-2. Mikowski threw three shutout innings and Paige Jones made a short appearance before Julia K. Both teams got to challenge each other and see how the other team was.
Mathnasium went to Floral Park but their bats and gloves missed the bus. It was a tough evening for the girls not only missing a few off the roster but losing 14-4 on May 14. However, there were some highlights, Julia K hit a nub back to the pitcher and ended up scoring. She just couldn’t stop running and she made a perfect slide into home to bring some cheer and smiles back to the dugout and the NHP bleachers. Faith Lusk, Lexi Schneidmuller and Julia Broadman tasted a little infield dust when they got their move to the infield for a couple of innings.
NHP’s Zadnik DDS was suppose to play West Hempstead 1 but when they arrived the gates were locked, the fields covered and no one there so they moved to a nearby field that was in perfect condition and had a great practice on May 11. Zadnik DDS is 6-1 and is Mathnasium 4-4-1.
