Shirley Home Invasion Under Investigation

Suffolk County police are investigating an armed home invasion in Shirley last week during which a woman was tied up, authorities said.

Two men armed with a shotgun walked in through the front door of a Tyne Road home, where they stole cash, a phone, a necklace and a watch from the victims inside at 2:48 p.m. Friday, May 24, police said.

The victims were not injured. Police have not made any arrests in the case but Seventh Squad detectives are continuing the investigation.

The case is the 17th armed home invasion in Suffolk this year. Nassau County is up to nine such cases, following a recent attempted New Cassel home invasion Thursday.
