Inwood Shooting Probed

Nassau County police are searching for a gunman who shot a man in Inwood early Saturday morning after an argument, police said.

The shooter and victim were among a group of males gathering on Jeannette Avenue around 2 a.m. when a verbal argument ensued, police said. One male took out a handgun and shot a 28-year-old man in the upper back, police said.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said. The gunman fled on foot after the shooting. He is described as a black male with braided hair, wearing a blue sweatshirt, police said.

Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding the shooting to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All calls are anonymous.
