Water District Warning: Stay Hydrated

As the weather continues to get warmer, the Plainview Water District Board of Commissioners Joel Kessler, Andrew Bader and Edward Shulroff are reminding residents to stay hydrated and healthy this summer by drinking at least eight glasses of water a day, as recommended by various health experts.

“Mostly everyone knows drinking water is important for their health. But in our busy lives, we tend to forget how important it is to stay hydrated,” said Board of Commissioners Chairman Joel Kessler.  “When the weather gets warmer, it is important to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water, and to make sure there is enough for everyone.  When we are not using water, try not to waste it.”

Drinking water before, during and after exercise is extremely important to staying hydrated.  As well, drinking tap water before spending an extended period of time outside is recommended.  By taking tap water to go in a reusable thermos or bottle, it also will save residents money and help save the environment from plastic bottles and pollution.

Water usage during the summer months increases drastically, which can possibly put stress on the District’s water pumping systems or waste money.  If residents make a conscious effort to conserve the drinking water supply, there will be enough water for all residents to keep cool and hydrated on hot, summer days.
