Brentwood Crash Leaves 2 Dead

Two people were killed when their vehicle crashed and burst into flames in Brentwood early Thursday morning.

Suffolk County police said the vehicle became fully engulfed in flames after crashing into a pole on Grand Boulevard shortly after 12 a.m.

Officers tried to rescue the victims from the burning car but the intense flames made rescuing them impossible, police said.

Brentwood Fire Department firefighters extinguished the fire.

The unidentified victims were pronounced dead at the scene. They were taken to the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s office for autopsies and identification.

Third Squad detectives ask anyone with information on this crash or the identities of the victims to call them at 631-854-8352 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
