A 54-year-old Levittown man was arrested Friday for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a boy for approximately five months, Nassau County police said.
Joseph Tucciarone was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and criminal sexual act after an investigation revealed an alleged sexual relationship with a 12-year-old that went on from November 2012 to April of this year, police said.
Authorities said the relationship allegedly “became sexual,” after Tucciarone befriended the boy last September, adding that he would offer the boy candy and invite him to his house. Police said seven to 15 alleged sexual encounters occurred between the two.
The boy’s parents found out about the alleged relationship and notified police, authorities said.
The investigation by the Special Victims Squad also included Nassau police’s Fugitive Squad and the United States Marshall’s office, police said.
Tucciarone was also charged with course of sexual conduct against a child. He will be arraigned Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.
