The following local students have been named to the Marist College Dean’s List for the spring 2013 semester:

Christine Ryan, Plainview is a member of the Class of 2014 and is majoring in Communication.

Daniel Ventricelli, Woodbury is a member of the Class of 2014 and is majoring in Communication.

The following students were named to the University at Albany’s spring 2013 Dean’s List for outstanding academic achievement:

Amy Spitz of Old Bethpage

Stephen La Rosa was a recipient of the Dean’s Award for academic excellence during the 2013 spring term at Colgate University, where La Rosa was a Biology major, and a graduating member of the Class of 2013.

To be eligible for the Dean’s Award, a Colgate student must achieve higher than a 3.30 average while enrolled in at least four courses. La Rosa is a graduate of Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK HS, and lives in Old Bethpage.

Corey Lee Elowsky of Plainview was named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2013 semester at Washington University in St. Louis. Elowsky is enrolled in the university’s School of Engineering and Applied Science.

To qualify for the Dean’s List in the School of Engineering & Applied Science, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.6 or above and be enrolled in at least 12 graded units.

Accomplishment – Dean’s List, Spring 2013 Semester

More than 200 students achieved perfect 4.0 grade point averages in the Spring 2013 semester, earning them a spot on Hofstra University’s Provost’s List. A student must complete at least 12 semester hours with ‘A’ grades to qualify. Hofstra University Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs Herman Berliner applauds these students’ impressive success, and recognizes that past achievement is an excellent predictor of continued success in the future.
