Sixty MacArthur High School business and marketing students were inducted into the New York State Business and Marketing Honor Society during the school’s third annual induction ceremony. Requisites for membership in this prestigious society include academic excellence in business and marketing classes, as well as a student’s display of merit, character, leadership and service.
Keynote speaker, Town Councilman Gary Hudes told the story of William H. Macy to illustrate how important it is to set goals and overcome bumps in the road to achieve a goal.
“You are here for a reason,” he stated. “Set goals. Don’t quit and worry about the speed bumps along the way in achieving those goals.”
Society President Justin Rosado described the members’ philanthropic endeavors, which included a blood drive, coat drive, donations to the John Theissen Children’s Foundation and the Don’t Text and Drive campaign. Honor society adviser Nicole Savage then led the inductees in the society’s membership oath, while Secretary Matthew Bellacosa and Treasurer Mia Katz led the induction.
