Summer Concert Series
The Village of New Hyde Park will hold its Summer Concert Series until Aug. 27 at 7 p.m. in Memorial Park on Lincoln Avenue, west of New Hyde Park Road between William and Albert Streets. All shows are free and open to all. In case of rain, shows will be held at William Gill Theater in Village Hall at 1420 Jericho Turnpike on the second floor. For more information, call 516-354-0022

Are you or someone you know seeking a path to faith? Come and have coffee with the Right of Christian Initiation team (RCIA) at St. Aidan’s Parish. Bring someone who is not of our faith and is searching or a baptized catholic who has not received all their sacraments. This is an informal night without any commitments. Notre Dame Cancer Support Group
There is a haven in New Hyde Park where cancer survivors, their spouses, and those currently afflicted with cancer can truly find hope and inspiration. Notre Dame’s Cancer Support Group meets every other Friday, at 9:15 a.m. for about two hours. Location: 9 Aberdeen Road, New Hyde Park, NY (sign in front says: Emmaus House of Prayer). This is about one block north of Hillside Ave. and slightly east of New Hyde Park Road. For July and August, we only meet once per month as follows: Friday, July 12 and Friday, August 9. On Friday, September 6, 2013, we resume meeting every other Friday. The group facilitator is Judy Coste. Admission is free. If you will be attending, kindly call Judy at: 631-523-5406.
Gladiator Fund Golf Classic
The New Hyde Park Gladiator Fund will hold a golf outing to benefit Neil Duggan, New Hyde Park Class of 1976 at Clearview Golf Course on Willets Point Blvd on Friday, Sept. 13. He was recently diagnosed with cancer. Cost is $175, but $200 after Aug. 23. There’s a 6:30 a.m. registration and continental breakfast, followed by a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start with dinner at the Inn at New Hyde Park at 2 p.m. Dinner is $75.

•AARP #1868 Williston Park area meets on the first Monday of the month at 1:30 p.m. at the American Legion Post No. 144 Hall at 730 Willis Avenue in Williston Park Coffee and cake following meeting. New members welcome. Call 742-0465 for more information.
