I urge everyone to get out and vote “YES” on the special Town of Oyster Bay referendum that is being held on Tuesday, August 20th.
I have lived in the Plainview-Old Bethpage community since 1969. My kids went through the POB Schools and now my grandchildren are doing so as well.
Along with many other good people, I have tried to help fight the good fight over the years to keep our community and our Town the kind of places that we all want to live in. In that connection, I helped in the ultimately successful fight to keep a municipal garbage dump from being located by the LIE North Service Road where the Hamlet at Olde Oyster Bay condominiums are now located.
That fight was successful, but now we are in the midst of another major fight to preserve our communities. A “YES” vote on August 20th will drive the final nail in the coffin of the ill advised proposed Syosset Mega-Mall, and will open the way for rational, reasonable residential and small business development of the Cerro Wire property. A “YES” vote will also provide a much needed in-flux of nearly $30 Million into the Town of Oyster Bay.
Please join me and my family on August 20, 2013 by voting “YES” on this most important vote. Don’t be confused – a “YES” vote on August 20th is a vote AGAINST the Syosset Mega-Mall.
