Ronnie Vichman Scores In Inaugural Run

Among the list of top finishers on the Aug. 17th Inaugural Discover Hicksville Run was 32-year-old Ronnie Vichman of Farmingdale who was the 9th finisher overall and took home the first place award plaque in the 30-34 age group.  Vichman’s finishing time of 33 minutes, 29 seconds brought him to the finish line37 seconds in front of his nearest competitor in the age group.

 

Starting and finishing at Cantiague Park, more than 200 runners enjoyed a great race through the streets of northwest Hicksville, and a terrific post-race Barbeque (hot dogs, hamburgers, beer, ice cream, baked goods courtesy of All Round Foods, and all the trimmings!). Fifty-five youngsters took part in the 1/4 mile Fun Run that preceded the main event.

 

The Hicksville Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Long Island Running Club collaborated on what turned out to be one of the highlights of the Long Island running and racing summer – the inaugural Discover Hicksville 5 Kilometer Run.
