Long Island Architect to Stars Admits to Child Porn

An architect who designed homes for the rich and famous pleaded guilty Monday to possession of child pornography.

Jay Lockett Sears’ guilty plea comes seven months after federal agents said they discovered hundreds of images of child porn in a dumpster outside his East Moriches apartment building.

The 73-year-old created his own child porn by taking photographs of children in public and then placing their heads onto images of adult bodies engaged in sexual acts, prosecutors said.

Several of the images that Sears discarded included pictures of his face pasted onto bodies of other men to make it appear as if he were having sexual relations with children, prosecutors said.

“Sears victimized children by using their innocent faces to create child pornography,” said Loretta Lynch, U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of New York. “He then dragged them further into his aberrant fantasy world by adding his own images to these pictures.”

Sears faces up to 10 years in prison. He will be sentenced in January.

Investigators still ask that parents who believe that their children may have been victims contact the Suffolk County Computer Crimes Squad at 631-852-6279 or the FBI at 631-501-8600.
