Bethpage Packs Backpacks

More than 1,800 children arrived to their first day of school with backpacks filled with school supplies thanks to the annual Family Service League “Backpacks for Back to School” program and a generous grant of $20,000 from Bethpage Federal Credit Union. Each year, Family Service League enlists the help of the community to collect school supplies for families who cannot afford $50 to $75 for backpacks and school supplies for each child. Hundreds of donors dropped off supplies or donated funds online and dozens of corporations collected supplies at their offices. Capital One Bank sold “stars” at 160 branches to raise funds.
