Veterans Barbecue

Nassau County will host the third annual veterans’ barbecue, rain or shine on Sept. 20 at Eisenhower Park, parking field 6. Lunch will be served and entertainment will include a live band. County agencies will be present to offer assistance and information to veterans. Call 516-572-0200 for information.

Long Island County Fair 

Old Bethpage Village Restoration hosts New York State’s longest-running county fair on two consecutive weekends: from Friday, Sept. 20 through Sunday, Sept. 22, and again from Friday, Sept. 27, through Sunday, Sept. 29. Prize-winning vegetables, flowers, crafts, farm animals. Brass band concerts, traditional music, wagon and pony rides and more. For more information, call 516-571-8406.

POW/MIA Ceremony

A rememberance ceremony to honor POW and MIA military servicemembers will held on Sept. 21 at 7 a.m. at the veterans’ memorial in Eisenhower Park, near parking field 6, beginning at 7 p.m. All are welcome to attend.

Board of Education Meeting 

The next public session for the Island Trees Board of Education will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 7:30 p.m. All past and future meeting dates can be found on the district’s website, including meeting agendas and copies of each meeting’s minutes. Cruise To The Car Show

Nassau County’s 4th Annual Cruise to the Show car parade, show and auction wheels into Eisenhower Park on Sept. 28 and Sept. 29. Parade begins at 9 a.m. at Briarcliffe College on Sept. 29, cruising to Eisenhower Park for display and judging with live music, food and entertainment for the whole family. Fall Business Festival 

The Levittown Chamber of Commerce Fall Business Festival will be held on Oct. 5 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in front of the Levittown Public Library, Veterans Memorial Park. Visit with local businesses, craft vendors, a pumpkin patch and the Levittown Fire Department smoke house.

The Levittown Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary will host Gift Basket Bingo on Oct. 19 at Levittown Hall on Levittown Parkway in Hicksville. Proceeds benefit the Levittown Fire Department.
