Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School senior Kimia Ziadkhanpour has been selected as a semifinalist in the 2013-14 National Merit Scholarship Competition.
Ziadkhanpour was recognized for her outstanding performance on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Exam. In order to earn this esteemed title, she had to score in the top third of 50,000 students nationwide who qualified for recognition in the National Merit Scholarship program.
The academically talented Ziadkhanpour will now have the opportunity to continue in the competition for over 8,300 National Merit Scholarships that will be offered in the spring.
