Charity Haunted House

“Rally for Ryan” Charity Haunted House will be held on Friday, Oct. 25, Saturday, Oct. 26, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. and Thursday, Oct. 31 from 7 to 9 p.m. at 23 Midlawn Drive in North Massapequa to benefit two-year-old Ryan Conte, who is bravely fighting neuroblastoma and also the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society of Long Island.

Homecoming

MacArthur High School will hold its Homecoming celebration on Oct. 26. The parade begins at noon. The football game begins at 2 p.m. at 3369 Old Jerusalem Road. Call 516-520-8450 for information.

Walk and Fair

L.E.A.D.D. Walk and Fair will be held on Oct. 27.  Walk starts at 10 a.m. and the Fair runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Flu Shots

Assemblyman Tom McKevitt will host a flu shot program along with the East Meadow Public Library and the Nassau University Medical Center on Nov. 1. The event will be held at the East Meadow Public Library with no out-of-pocket cost to residents. Appointments are on a first-come, first-served basis, and can be made by calling Assemblyman McKevitt’s district office.

Veterans’ Parade

On Nov. 3 Nassau County will honor Iraq and Afghanistan veterans in Levittown with a county-wide parade, hosted by the American Legion Post 1711.

Veterans’ Day Ceremony

The Levittown community will gather at Veterans’ Memorial Park, in front of Levittown Public Library on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. to honor all veterans.

The Society invites members and the public to bring in a family heirloom or conversation piece of historic significance to share with the audience. Established in 1988, the Levittown Historical Society is a nonprofit educational institution of volunteers dedicated to preserving the legacy of William J. Levitt, the world-famous suburban town he and his family built for homecoming GIs, and the rural communities that preceded it. To that end, the society maintains an open-to-the-public museum at the Levittown Memorial Education Center, hosts educational forums, and participates in community events.
