Swimmers to compete at national meet
Long Island Aquatic Club (LIAC) is pleased to announce that Garden City residents Kimberly Chan, Margo Kern, and Kalie Yuen have qualified to compete at the National Age Group Challenge Meet. These swimmers are three of 67 LIAC swimmers invited to attend this prestigious competition.
This is the fifth year that LIAC has qualified swimmers to race in the meet. The LIAC athletes will compete in single age groups against swimmers from all over the East Coast. In 2011, LIAC had 90 individual swims in the Top 8. After being sidelined by Hurricane Sandy in 2012, the coaches and swimmers look forward to returning to the competition and improving on that performance this year.
The National Age Group Challenge will be held Nov. 2-3 in Germantown, MD. Results of the meet can be found live on LIAC’s website www.longislandswimming.com
