Redmen Take First Place In Baseball Tourney
The Shelter Rock 9U Redmen played some tough competition but proved to be the champions at the recent Baseball Heaven Think Pink for a Cure Tournament. After losing a close first game, the Redmen went on to win the remaining games, clinching the championship.
The Redmen are a nonprofit ball club comprised of boys from New Hyde Park, Mineola and Albertson. Aside from their achievements on the ballfield the team is continuously helping others in their community. They have sponsored a field day at AHRC for children with disabilities, volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House and collected Band-Aids and lollipops for Winthrops Cancer Center for Kids. For the Redmen players the game is about more than just baseball.
