If you’re looking for a holiday gift for your husband or boyfriend, your shopping just got a little bit easier with the grand opening of James Guy Men’s Clothing Store earlier this month. Located at 77 South Street in Oyster Bay, the store sells fashionable items like Timberland jackets, flannel shirts and Trask boots, and shoes made from bison, elk and Longhorn leather.
The store is owned by Catherine Drabin of Chrison & Bellina LLC.
“I wanted to open a store that would cater to men because guys should be able to purchase shirts and socks without having to leave Oyster Bay,” said Drabin. “A lot of what we sell is weekend wear for the casual type of guy.”
James Guy originally opened on Father’s Day and so far the response from the community has been very positive, according to Drabin.
“The majority of our customer base has been commuters getting off the train from the city and wives who are out shopping for their husbands.”
The store, which is themed in a nautical design and outlined with original brick walls and crafted wooden shelves, sells stylish menswear like original Woolrich jackets, K-Way waterproof raincoats and a variety of jeans and t-shirts. Men’s accessory items like ties, wallets and hygienic items are also for sale. Prices range from $10-$20 for small books to $700 for high line Timberland jackets.
Drabin, who goes back and forth between her two stores, said after owning Chrison & Bellina for seven years in the community it was time for men to have their own store to shop at.
“With Chrison & Bellina we’ve been catering to women’s fashion and at this point I’m ready for part two.”
James Guy is open seven days a week, Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
