OLM Hoops Starts Strong

The third grade Our Lady of Mercy Boys Basketball Team got off to a strong start Sunday, Nov. 17, in front of a packed house at the OLM Gym in Hicksville.

The boys took on a tough Saint Killians squad from Farmingdale. Johnny Sullivan led the way on offense, scoring six points for Mercy. Liam Toner did an outstanding job running the offense, and scoring four points of his own. RJ Ivers was tough to defend as he also dropped four points. Nicholas Soliman played great on both sides of the court scoring two points of his own. Evan Glusic hit a clutch freethrow. Joe Sayers played his usual tenacious defense, and hustled on every play. Danny W. was a force on defense, and Lucas Spector, and Tyler B. were also playing great on both sides of the court. It was a great game that ended in a 17-17 tie. This was the boys first ever CYO game, they have been playing in the Our Lady of Mercy Basketball Clinics since kindergarten.
