James Gregory Tallon, 80

pictureJames Gregory Tallon passed away on November 27, 2013. He lived in Manhasset for over 45 years. Born on April 19th, 1933 in Manhattan, he was the only child of the late James and Helen Tallon. 

Jim was a graduate of Fordham University, and an active alumni member. He was also a long-time member of Plandome Country Club, where he was an avid golfer. Jim was the chairman CEO and co-founder of Educational Resource Systems, Inc., a pharmaceutical training and medical education company located in Roslyn Heights, and Red Bank, New Jersey.

Jim was married to Madeline Tallon for 51 years, prior to her passing in 2008. He is survived by his children, Madeline Marks (Andrew), of White Plains, New York; Phyllis Farawell (John), of Verona, New Jersey; and James Jr. He was adored by his seven grandchildren: Allison, Jessica, Kelly, Lauren, Daniel, Colin, and Christine, and two great-grandchildren: Coen and Autumn.

Memorial services were held at Fairchild Sons Funeral Home on Friday, November 29. A funeral mass was held at St. Mary’s Church in Manhasset, followed by interment at Nassau Knolls Cemetery in Port Washington. Contributions in memory of James G. Tallon may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
