It was a magical night on Main Street as about 600 area residents enjoyed the good weather for the fourth annual Port Holiday Magic.

From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., more than 50 stores offered specials, prizes or served refreshments to strolling families out to support local businesses and have fun.

During this time a dozen singing or dancing acts were performing on Main Street in three locations. The main stage, at the LIRR station, featured Daniel Donatelli, co-president of Residents For a More Beautiful Port Washington, serving as master of ceremonies.

Performances included Syndey Ronis of Hearts, the Schreiber High School Choir, Bach to Rock glee groups, Chabad, Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church Choir, Louise Benes Dance, iSchool of Music, The Wright Brothers, Port Jewish Center, United Methodist Church Choir and the RSNS Choir. To make it easier to get around town, a white trolley was taking people from the Port Commons to the Town Dock during the evening.

During this festive occasion there was strolling entertainment from the Toy Soldier Group and the Big Apple Circus. Santa Claus also made his appearance on Main Street and in many stores.

The event was sponsored by the Business Improvement District (BID), the Chamber of Commerce, Residents For a More Beautiful Port Washington and the Town of North Hempstead.
