Making a difference in the community is what the Showcase Kitchens has done by sponsoring Chef Max Hardy’s One Chef Can 86 Hunger Foundation.
“Feed the Community,” a month long event, feeds a multitude of volunteers fed low-income families and the homeless in four communities each weekend this past October. Volunteers included Showcase Kitchens own Starck family members Anthony, John, his daughter, Brianna and Knicks player, Amar’e Stoudemire, who were on hand for the final and main event in Harlem.
The entire event benefits One Chef Can 86 Hunger, which was founded in 2011. Its goal is to help fight the hunger crisis in America and educate people on maintaining a healthy and cost effective lifestyle. The foundation also raises money for students in culinary arts programs.
The long-term goal of the One Chef Can 86 Hunger Foundation is to build culinary programs in lower in-come areas across the nation instilling in the youth the important of hard work and healthy eating. The community celebration brought people together, young and old, to have fun, and learn ways to keep our children active, healthy and feed as many people as possible for free.
