Roslyn resident Irving Chernofsky was recently elected to the Nassau Library System Board of Trustees for a five-year term ending in 2017.
His responsibility is to represent the needs of five public libraries that include Roslyn, Great Neck, Manhasset, Port Washington and Shelter Rock.
Chernofsky also serves as a Trustee and Treasurer for the Bryant Library in Roslyn.
The Nassau Library System provides services for its member libraries by doing bulk buying, which helps individual library budgets. The system also keeps a central catalogue of all materials in Nassau County and Suffolk County to help further serve all the libraries in both counties.
