The Island Trees Varsity Wrestling team competed in their first non-league match of the season Thursday night defeating Hicksville 66-12. The Bulldogs won 12 out of the 15 weight classes. Tyler Butrico, Chris Williams, Kevin McDonough, Brandon Fourquet, Anthony Reyes, and Ed Sanchez all won their matches by pin. Chris Donnelly won by technical fall 15-0; Vinny Manna won by major decision 9-0; and, John Nicolino won by decision 7-2. Our JV team also won 36-24 with Timmy Madden and Oscar Reyes paving the way by pins.
The Bulldogs wrestled tough all night controlling and dominating the match in impressive fashion. The next two contests will include the Bay Shore Duals vs. #6 ranked team in Suffolk County East Islip, and then on next Wednesday December 18, non-league match vs. cross town rival and #8 ranked team in Levittown Division High School.
