A 22-year-old man was shot to death in his hometown of Hempstead on Thursday night, Nassau County police said.
Officers responded to a report of shots fired on Gladys Avenue, where they found Jose Alvarado lying in the driveway unconscious and suffering from a gunshot wound at 10:15 p.m., police said.
The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead a half hour later.
Homicide Squad detectives are continuing the investigation.
