The generous spirit of the Levittown School District community rang true through the collection of hundreds of items for needy families during the district’s fifth annual Adopt-A-Family program. Under the direction of Gina Interdonato and Esta Lachow, more than 209 individuals will experience the season of giving, evidenced by the collection of toys, clothes and household items that packed the Board of Education meeting room at Levittown Memorial Education Center. On Dec. 16, Board of Education trustees, administrators, staff, students and community members gathered to wrap the gifts prior to distribution.
“Because of the economy, so many families and individuals were in need of our services this year,” Ms. Lachow said. “We really had an outpouring of gifts this year, and they keep coming.”
