This has been an exceptional season for student-athletes at Division Avenue and MacArthur high schools. The students realized success on and off the field, with four individuals designated as scholar-athletes. During the fall sports season, athletes secured 14 All-
County, seven All-Class, 24 All-Conference, one All-Division and two All-County Honorable Mention designations.
In addition, swimmers Jessica Giuliani, Libbie Sudweeks, Whitney Sun and Danielle Thomas set a new school record for the 200-yard medley relay. Whitney also broke a record for the 500-yard freestyle. Senior athletes Robert Andreoli, Brianna DeMilia, Adam
Heidenfelder, Kirsten Kelley, Thomas McAndrew, Steven Schneider and Joe Spitaleri also signed National Letters of Intent to continue their sports at the collegiate level.
On the team level, the MacArthur High School football, boys soccer, girls soccer, and boys and girls volleyball teams, as well as Division Avenue High School’s girls volleyball team, qualified for the playoffs. The MacArthur High School boys soccer and girls
volleyball teams were named conference champions, while the cross-country and boys soccer teams won sportsmanship awards. Boys soccer coach Andy Atkins and girls volleyball coach Diane Drury were designated Coaches of the Year.
