Fire Dept. Inaugurates Members

The Plainview Fire Department recently held its installation ceremeony at station no. 1 on Old Country Road.

The ceremony saw the installation of officers, as well as the swearing in of Chief Ross Dubner for his second term. Dubner was installed as the 48th chief of the department.

The veteran firefighter joined the Plainview Fire Department in June of 1991 as a junior firefighter. He officially entered the ranks in 1995 and rose through the ranks as lieutenant and then captain of Engine Company 4, assigned to station no. 3 on Round Swamp Road. The second-term chief grew up in Plainview, graduating from Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School.

The Plainview Fire Department is committed to protecting the people, property and environment within the community through its efforts to provide the highest quality of service. To accomplish this mission. the department provides fire suppression and prevention programs, a state of the art pre-hospital care system and effective scene management.
