Farmingdale Board of Ed Meeting

The Farmingdale Union-Free School District Board of Education will hold its next meeting on Jan. 15, at 8 p.m., inside the Howitt Middle School cafeteria. 

Thursday, January 16

After-hours Networking and Business Card Swap

On Jan. 16, the Chamber of Commerce invites you to meet at the Nutty Irishman, located at 323 Main Street, after normal business hours to network and swap cards with other local business owners. 

 

Women’s Club 

The Women’s Club of Farmindale will hold their next meeting at Village Hall, located at 361 Main Street, on Jan. 16 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

 

FBLI Registration

Come sign up for the Farmingdale Baseball League, Inc. at Allen Park on Thursday, Jan. 16. Registration will be held from 6:30-9 p.m. For more information log onto the FBLI website at www.fdalebaseball.com.

 

PTA Presentation

Join members of the Howitt Middle School PTA, on Jan. 16 at 7 p.m., for a special presentation from Dr. Bill Brennan, Director of Instructional Technology at Farmingdale Schools. Dr. Brennan will be giving his presentation, Technology: Having It All, which he recently gave at the 117th Annual NYS PTA Convention in November. 

 

Dr. Brennan will be talking about how technology has framed our lives and our children’s futures. He will discuss how parents and teachers can move towards embracing it as we understand how it has opened up new pathways in education and nearly limitless growth potential for Farmingdale students. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to find out what your child already knows.

5th Annual Birthday Blood Drive

At a time when blood donations are at a critical low, come help Long Island Blood Services to meet its need by donating the gift of life. On Saturday, Jan. 18, North Seaford resident Mindy Davidson will host her 5th annual Birthday Blood Drive at The Runner’s Edge, located at 242 Main Street, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Runner’s Edge is also providing 20 percent off all purchases in the store during the blood drive. School and village offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 20, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Farmingdale High School PTA Meeting

The next meeting of the Farmingdale High School Parent-Teacher Association will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 21, at 7 p.m. inside the high school library. 

 

Blood Drive

Come give blood. On Jan. 21, the Woodward Parkway Elementary School will be hosting a blood drive from 3:30 – 9 p.m. Juice and cookies will be provided. 

 

Village Board of Trustees Work Session

The next public work session of the Village of Farmingdale Board of Trustees will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21 at Village Hall on Main Street.
