The Farmingdale State men’s and women’s indoor track team opened the new year at the New York City Gotham Cup on Friday, Jan. 10, at the New Balance Track & Field Center. The men’s team set seven new personal bests and moved up on multiple All-Time lists.
Freshmen Donte McArthur of Hempstead and Stephen Schmidt of Levittown each set two personal bests. McArthur placed 13th in the Triple Jump at a distance of 12.95m and moved up to no. 5 on the FSC All-Time list with a time of 9.14. Schmidt finished 15th in the Weight Throw with a toss of 10.52m. He would also finish 27th in the Shot Put at 11.07m.
Sophomore Jordan Kohlman of Wantagh cleared 12’ 7” in the Pole Vault, moving him to no. 10 on All-Time list.
In the 60-meters, senior Steven Renteria of and sophomore James D’Onofrio, both from West Babylon, finished in 7.29 and now stand tied at no. 3 on the All-Time list.

Karl Nilsen of Smithtown finished the Pole Vault, coming in 12th out of 28 contestants and no. 6 on the All-Time list.
Daquan Grant of Copiague, finished the Triple Jump, coming in 12th out of 34 contestants.
