The Albertson Fire Department is investigating a fire that broke out at a 14-unit town house complex in Albertson early Friday morning.

Police say a Third Precinct officer was on patrol at 6:15 a.m. and smelled smoke at 153 I.U. Willets Road. Residents were evacuated and the Albertson Fire Department responded, along with 14 other fire departments.
The fire was contained but at least four units were destroyed, according to police. The Red Cross responded to assist those residents in getting relocated.
No injuries were reported and the investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
