On Jan, 18, Farmingdale speedster Franklin Diaz finished second place overall in the 4th annual Sayville Running Company’s 10-mile run to the Blue Point Brewery with a finish time of 57 minutes and 2 seconds—a pace of 5:42 minutes per mile.
A total of 1085 runners were on hand for this year’s 10 mile race to the Blue Point Brewery—Long Island’s largest 10 mile race—held on the roads of Patchogue, Blue Point and Bayport in Suffolk County. The Run was co-sponsored by the Blue Point Brewery, the Sayville Running Company, AirWeld, and All Round Foods. Race management was by the Greater Long Island Running Club, with GLIRC’s Ric DiVeglio serving as the Race Director.
