Two teenagers were wounded in separate shootings and two men were arrested following a third unrelated report of shots fired on Long Island over the weekend, Nassau and Suffolk county police said.
In the first case, a 17-year-old boy got into an argument with four men at a Freeport party, stepped outside after the group left and was shot in the right arm at 11:30 p.m. Friday, Nassau’s Special Investigations Squad detectives said.
Then at 12:03 a.m. Sunday, 16-year-old Joshua Rosenberg was walking with three friends on Scott Avenue in his hometown of Deer Park when they heard gunshots, ran away and Rosenberg realized that he had been shot in the arm, Suffolk police said.
Rosenberg and the Freeport teen were each taken to local hospitals for treatment of their gunshot wounds.
In between those two shootings, Suffolk police arrested two men after officers responded to a report of shots fired during an altercation between several people in front of a house in West Babylon at 10:45 p.m. Saturday, authorities said.
There were no injuries in that shooting, but investigators recovered a .25-caliber handgun that had been reported stolen in the state of Delaware in 2006, police said.
Charged with criminal possession of a weapon were Malik Ford, 20, who lives at the Edith Court home, and 19-year-old Joseph O’Keefe, who lives nearby in West Babylon, police said.
Ford was also charged with reckless endangerment and criminal possession of stolen property.
