Snow Day In Oyster Bay
The Oyster Bay Historical Society has a new exhibit at the Koenig Center, 20 Summit Street, Snow Day In Oyster Bay. It includes the sign from The Oyster Bay Ski Center managed in the mid-fifties by Oscar Summers, from their collection, as well as costumes on loan from Monica Randall. Black History Talk
Hood A.M.E. Zion Church, 11 Summit Street, is celebrating Black History month at 1 p.m. with a talk by Simon Rutledge, Middle Island historian. The Reverend Linda Vanager said, “Simon Rutledge will be talking about the history of the A.M.E. Zion Church, the ‘mother church,’ and Harlem, then and now: the changes from the early days before the civil rights moment and now.” The talk will be followed by a light lunch. LI Baroque Ensemble

Lecture: Neurodegenerative Diseases
The lecture at the Locust Valley Library will cover Neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s, MS and Parkinson’s. The lecturer, Nicholas Sampsidis, MS, is a biochemist, nutritional therapist, and researcher, as well as a best-selling author and an authority on the nature, management and remedying of chronic inflammatory and life-threatening illnesses employing non-invasive and non-toxic methods. 11 a.m.
Power Foods
At this lecture, the discussion topics include the power foods list, what are anti-oxidants and free radicals in foods, and what do they do for us. The free, informative lecture on the importance of eating healthfully will be held at Locust Valley Library, 7 p.m.

The reception will be held by the Theodore Roosevelt Association on Feb. 25 at 6 p.m. at The National Arts Club, 15 Gramercy Park South, NYC, to introduce the new 100 percent All American-made Teddy Bear. Sourced and manufactured entirely in the United States, the bears are part of the national Teddy Bears for Kids Project, for children hospitalized for seriously illness. A Night at the Oscars

Brownie Bake-Off, 7 p.m. Let the judges at the Locust Valley Library decide on the best brownies. There will be prizes for all participants. Here’s how “Taste of the Library Cookbook Club” works. Cookbooks are put on display at the reference desk. You pick a recipe that piques your interest (or taste buds). Before you leave, a library staff member will make a copy of your recipe for you to take home. Prepare your recipe at home, and then bring it to the meeting to share with the other participants. UCPN Polar Bear Plunge
Sign up for the annual UCPN Polar Bear Plunge that takes place at Theodore Roosevelt Beach, rain or shine, snow or sunshine. The event features refreshments prepared by members of the Atlantic Steamer Fire Company, raffles and entertainment. Food Pantry
The North Shore Assembly of God, 84 Orchard St, Oyster Bay is operating a new food pantry for the community. It is meant to supplement the growing needs of the community.
