MacArthur Winter Concert
The Levittown Public Schools invite parents to MacArthur High School on Thursday, Feb. 27, for its Winter Concert. Students will perform at 7:30 p.m. sharp inside the high school auditorium.
Senior Fashion Show

Blood Drive and Bone Marrow Registry
Jessy Davidson, a junior at MacArthur High School, will be holding a scholarship blood drive and bone marrow registry drive on March 1 from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. at the John Theissen Children’s Foundation, located at 1881 Wantagh Ave. in Wantagh. Davidson is hoping to earn a small college scholarship through the New York Blood Center Bloodstock Scholarship Program. Blood supplies are at a severe shortage due to the winter storms and cancellations of many blood drives. For more information contact mindyruns@aol.com.

Long Island String Festival Association Elementary Concert
On March 2, local elementary school students participating in this year’s Long Island String Festival Association’s elementary concert, will take the stage at Uniondale Senior High School, located at 933 Goodrich Street in Uniondale, for a performance at 1 p.m.
23rd Annual Bethpage St. Patrick’s Parade
Festivities begin at 1 p.m. with a Mass at St. Martin of Tours Church. The parade steps off at 2 p.m. and begins along Central Ave. in Bethpage, down Stewart Ave. and returning on Broadway to the Showmobile where the Grand Marshal and elected officials will view the parade.
Grand Marshal Tess Steubing, family, friends and visiting dignitaries will join the color guard, pipe bands and marching units to lead the parade through downtown Bethpage.

The next meeting of the Division Avenue High School PTSA will be held on March 3, at 7:30 p.m. at Division Avenue High School.
Salk/MacArthur PTSA Meeting
The next meeting of the Salk Middle School/MacArthur High School PTSA will be held on March 3, at 7:30 p.m. at Salk Middle School.
Chamber of Commerce Board
The next meeting of the Levittown Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors will be held on March 3, from 8-10 a.m., at the Astoria Federal Savings Bank, located at 3105 Hempstead Tpke.

Schools Budget Workshop
The Levittown Public School Board of Education will hold its third budget workshop on March 5, at 7:30 p.m., at the Levittown Memorial Education Center. The Island Trees School District Board of Education will also be holding a budget workshop on March 5, from 7-10 p.m. at the Karopczyc school, located at 74 Farmedge Road in Levittown.

Division Avenue Fundraising Party
On March 7, at 7 p.m., Division Avenue High School, at 120 Division Ave. in Levittown, will host the 14th annual Division Avenue HS PTSA Sweeps and Chinese Auction—a family friendly night filled with great prizes. Admission to the gym for the Sweeps portion of the evening is only $5.00 a person and includes one game card, good for nine sweeps games, door prize raffle, desserts and coffee/tea during intermission. The Chinese auction portion of the event will be held in the cafeteria and is open to all. The Chinese auction starts at 3 p.m. and closing at 7 p.m., when Sweeps begins. Auction baskets include Walt Disney World Tickets, Oheka Castle overnight, Coach bags and more. This event supports the Levittown PTA’s Senior Award. Last year the organization gave out 28 monetary awards to qualifying seniors graduating from Division Avenue.
Jim Florentine at Governor’s
On March 7, comedian Jim Florentine will be dropping by Governor’s Comedy Club, located at 90 Division Ave., in Levittown, for a one-night special event. Admission is 18 and older, and tickets are $22 – $52. Doors open at 6 p.m.
Florentine is best known as the voices of “Special Ed” and “Bobby Fletcher” from Comedy Central’s “Crank Yankers” and as the guy who spends his days turning the tables on Telemarketers. He recently just filmed a movie “A Little Help” with Jenna Fischer and Chris O’Donnell and recently released a new CD called “Terrorizing Telemarketers Volume 5 Wanted Dead or Alive.”

Rockin’ For Autism
The Developmental Disabilities Institute will once again be heating things up with Long Island’s best rock-n-roll bands to benefit children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities at Mulcahy’s Pub and Music Hall on March 9, at 3 p.m. For a $30.00 donation guests will enjoy the sounds of legendary local bands, gift baskets auction, raffles, food, cash bar and the company of hundreds of fellow Long Islanders. An all-star lineup of legendary Long Island bands will be set to hit the stage including 1 Step Ahead, The Cold Spring Harbor Band paying tribute to Billy Joel, 3, and Generation.
