Suffolk County police announced Thursday that they tracked down and arrested the 25-year-old Shirley man who allegedly escaped police custody on Sunday while he was being processed at the Fourth Precinct.

Michael Greco, who was previously arrested on non-violent drug related charges, was located in Bay Shore on Wednesday, police said. He was additionally charged with first-degree escape.

Police issued a press release Thursday reporting Greco’s arrest but didn’t specifically mention where he was located. A police spokeswoman said those details weren’t available.

Greco was arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Thursday on the escape charge and for criminal possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and conspiracy.

Police on Monday said Greco allegedly fled from the Fourth Precinct in Smithtown while he was being processed on drug related charges.

Police did not say how Greco managed to escape while he was in custody.
