Adult Ed Classes Still Open

The spring semester is underway but there is still time to register for many exciting courses in Roslyn, Herricks and East Williston Adult Education.
Among them, are classes in Jewelry Making, which is offered on Wednesday evenings in April; Write Away; the Book Review class which begins April 2; Musical Images; How Great Composers Enhance Beauty and Expression in All of the Arts, Magic 101 and Mah Jongg, whose beginner classes also start in April.

In the Health & Wellness section, classes include Medical Laboratory Testing & You and Fly & Live Without Fear. In addition, a Notary Public Training will run on Monday, April 28. Other classes being offered are Considering Adoption? What You Need to Know to Start Your Adoption Journey and Secrets of Organizing Your Life, which is a series with three sessions: The Secrets of Organizing Basics, The Secret to Having More Time, Secrets of a Professional Organizer. If you take all three, there is a discount.

On May 7, a new course, Asset & Estate Conservation, discusses wills, trusts and other asset protection strategies.

There is still availability in several spring trips: The Gourmet Chef Demonstration & Luncheon Series will take students to La Coquille in Manhasset on April 28 and The View Grill in Glen Cove on June 2.

Musical New York, an entertaining movie, song & Broadway tour with a Professional Stage Performer, will take place on May 30.

The Art Museum Tour Series offers a unique opportunity to see the important art shows of the season. There are still openings in each section where you will take five trips into Manhattan to see different museums and galleries.

Residents of East Williston, Herricks and Roslyn School districts pay the resident rate for course offerings and trips, and are eligible for senior citizen discounts, as well. Classes are held at both the Roslyn Adult Education and the Herricks Community Center. Details are in the catalog. Register early as many courses have limited enrollment. Registration forms can be sent in via mail or fax. In-person registration is between 10 a.m. – noon on weekdays. Instructions are on the form. A $5 registration fee must be included. Registrations will not be taken over the phone.
