The North Syosset-Woodbury Republican Club celebrated with more than 425 friends, dignitaries and community members at the 58th Annual Lincoln Day Dinner at Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury on March 20.
Town of Oyster Bay Councilman Chris J. Coschignano, who is also the Executive Leader of the North Syosset-Woodbury Republican Club, was the Master of Ceremonies as this year’s Lincoln Day Awards were presented to The Honorable Joseph G. Pinto, a Town of Oyster Bay Councilman and The Honorable Rebecca M. Alesia, Town of Oyster Bay Councilwoman.
Pinto was a past trustee of the Village of Massapequa Park and past Town of Oyster Bay Deputy Commissioner of Public Works.
He is very community minded and has been involved with the local youth, working diligently to promote the Massapequa Little League.
Alesia was recognized for her efforts to preserve the quality of life enjoyed by Town of Oyster Bay residents, her advocacy for animals and pet adoption, her promotion of literacy and bringing “One Town, One Book: Oyster Bay Reads” program to our town.
She is also involved in the Town of Oyster Bay Safe Housing Task Force.
Councilman Coschignano then introduced Linda Mangano, wife of Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano as the Humanitarian Award recipient for her civic involvement and dedication to children.
She has been involved with multiple charities and business organizations, especially for physically challenged children and the Nassau County Hurricane Relief Fund.
Her long list of community participation is well known by local residents.
The Business Persons of the Year Awards were presented to Joseph J. Licata, III, Esq. and John J. Rossillo, Esq. They are founding partners in the Law Firm of Rossillo and Licata, PC.
Licata and Rosillo believe strongly in their community and actively participate in many local civic and charitable organizations.
All in all, it was a wonderful event and one of the longest-running community events in Nassau County at 58 years of age.
The North Syosset-Woodbury Republican Club encompasses the areas of North Syosset, North Woodbury, Village of Laurel Hollow, and parts of the Villages of Oyster Bay Cove and Muttontown.
The club holds regular meetings every last Wednesday of each month from September through May at 7 p.m. at the Woodlands at the TOB Golf Course in Woodbury.
