The Floral Park Library Board will hold their meeting on April 9 at the library at 7:30 p.m.

The Floral Park Village budget hearing will be held on April 9 in the village court room at 8 p.m.

The Floral Park Lions’ Club will meet on Wednesday, April 9 at 12:15 p.m. at Crabtree’s Restaurant.

Bellerose-Floral Park Homemakers monthly meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 9 at 11:30 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 57 Spooner St, in Floral Park.  Guests and new members welcome. For information call Barbara at 516-593-1873.

The Floral Park-Bellerose School District special education parent workshop will be held on Wednesday, April 9 at 7 p.m. at the Floral Park-Bellerose School.

The Covert Avenue Chamber of Commerce meeting has been changed and members will now meet on Wednesday, April 9 at 6:30 p.m. at Umi Restaurant on Covert Ave.

Painting is a passion: local artists Nancy Fabrizio, Virginia Edele, Vivian Hershfield, Susanne McVetty and Grace Su will be exhibiting their watercolors and oils at the Mineola Library, 195 Marcellus Ave. through April 30.


Thursday, April 10

Catholic Daughters meet on Thursday, April 10 at 8 p.m. at Our Lady of Victory Memorial Hall.

The John Lewis Childs PTA meeting will be held on Thursday, April 10 at 9 a.m. at John Lewis Childs School.


Saturday, April 12

The annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held on April 12 at 10 a.m. at the Stewart Manor Country Club. All children are welcome to participate, arriving with basket in hand. The Easter Bunny is likely to make a special appearance.

The Recreation Center’s annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Saturday, April 12. A 9:30 a.m. start in the tiny town area for children ages five and under. A 9:45 a.m. start in the stage area for children ages six and older.

Bellerose Village’s 46th Annual Easter Egg Hunt, hosted by St. Thomas Episcopal Church, will be held on Saturday, April 12 at 1 p.m. at 2 Commonwealth Blvd. Children from preschool to 9 years old may participate. Prizes will be awarded to those who find specially marked eggs. The Easter Bunny may visit, so bring a camera. Donation is $3 for each child participating. Proceeds will benefit St. Mary’s Children’s Hospital in Bayside. Rain date will be April 19. For information call Adele at 516-775-8291.


Tuesday, April 15

Village of Floral Park Board of Trustees meeting will be held on April 15 in the Village Court Room at 8 p.m.

AARP will offer tax assistance at the Floral Park Public Library on Tuesday, April 15 from 10:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Appointments are required and can be made at the library’s reference desk or by calling 516-326-6330.


Wednesday, April 16

The Women’s Club membership meeting will be held on April 16 at 12:30 p.m. at the Recreation Center. The program will be “Memories of Clearing Clutter” as presented by Diane Landau. New members welcome. Refreshments will be served. Contact Edna for information at 516-354-8818.


Thursday, April 17

The North End Civic Association will meet on April 17 at 7:30 p.m. at the Reliance Fire House, on Holland Ave. New members welcome. The Sewanhaka School District budget will be discussed.


Friday, April 18

The Knights of Columbus Council, Nassau County Fire Fighters Operation Wounded Warrior, and the Floral Park Fire Department will hold their Annual Good Friday Keith Fairben Memorial Blood Drive on April 18 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church’s Memorial Hall, at 2 Bellmore St. Photo ID is required, no appointment is necessary. Donors must be between the ages of 17 and 75, or 16 with parental permission. Operation Wounded Warrior will also be collecting bicycle gloves, T-shirts, and hats. Monday, April 21

The Floral Park AARP Chapter #5224 monthly meeting will be held on April 21 at 1 p.m. at the Recreation Center. The guest speaker will be Nancy Massaro and Richie Pfeiffer, presenting The Braddock Boys documentary. Light refreshments will be served. New members and guests are welcome.
