Kaiman At Chamber Breakfast

chamberGreat Neck’s Jon Kaiman discussed “The Nassau Interim Finance Authority (NIFA) and Superstorm Sandy: An Update of Issues Affecting Nassau County” at a recent Great Neck Chamber of Commerce breakfast meeting.

He addressed the proposed contract agreement between three county unions and Nassau County and other issues facing NIFA and Nassau County. He also discussed the status of payments to Hurricane Sandy victims through NY Rising. Kaiman, now chair the NIFA board and is the special adviser on Superstorm Sandy relief to Gov. Andrew Cuomo, answered questions after his presentation.

Kaiman was fomerly North Hempstead town supervisor and during those 10 years was responsible for several environmental-friendly programs such as: North Hempstead’s Townwide School Recycling Program, S.T.O.P. (Stop Throwing Out Pollutants/Pharmaceutical Collection Event), Operation Clean Sweep, and North Hempstead’s Earth Day Program, including EcoFest. He also led North Hempstead to green its vehicle fleet by purchasing hybrid and electric vehicles vehicles for the town.
