The North End Civic Association will meet on April 17 at 7:30 p.m. at the Reliance Fire House, on Holland Ave. New members welcome. The Sewanhaka School District budget will be discussed.
Friday, April 18
The Knights of Columbus Council, Nassau County Fire Fighters Operation Wounded Warrior, and the Floral Park Fire Department will hold their Annual Good Friday Keith Fairben Memorial Blood Drive on April 18 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church’s Memorial Hall, at 2 Bellmore St. Photo ID is required, no appointment is necessary. Donors must be between the ages of 17 and 75, or 16 with parental permission. Operation Wounded Warrior will also be collecting bicycle gloves, T-shirts, and hats. The Floral Park AARP Chapter #5224 monthly meeting will be held on April 21 at 1 p.m. at the Recreation Center. The guest speaker speaker will be Nancy Massaro and Richie Pfeiffer, presenting The Braddock Boys documentary. Light refreshments will be served. New members and guests are welcome. The Town of North Hempstead regular board meeting on Tuesday, April 22 at 7:30 p.m. at town hall, at 220 Plandome Rd. in Manhasset.

Village of Floral Park Architectural Review Board meets on April 23 at 7:30 p.m. at the Recreation Center.
The AHRC Nassau Floral Park Auxiliary will hold the Ida Bono Memorial Luncheon on Wednesday, April 23 at noon at the Garden City Country Club, 206 Stewart Ave. in Garden City. For reservations call Joyce at 516-352-4138.

The Floral Park Historical Society will host the Vanderbilt Cup Race Historic Marker unveiling ceremony on Saturday, April 26 from noon to 2:30 p.m. at Emerson Ave. and Jericho Tpke.
Sunday, April 27
Floral Park Fire Department Open House will be held on April 27 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the commuter parking lot at Carlton Ave. and Floral Blvd. Department members will provide information about membership and explain the duties and rewards that come with being a volunteer firefighter or EMT.
Irish American Society at 297 Willis Ave., in Mineola will hold a night of Irish dinner and dancing on Saturday, April 27 at 5 p.m. The cost is $35 per person, catered by B. Kerins and staff with music by Andy Healy. Reservations are recommended. Call 516-746-9392 for details.

Provides free transportation to and from medical appointments for senior citizens who are residents of the Floral Park/Bellerose area and cannot afford cab fare or who have no other means of transportation. Floral Park United Methodist Thrift Shop
The United Methodist Church Thrift Shop, at 35 Verbena Ave., features jewelry, clothing, housewares, bric-a-brac, dishes, linens, collectibles, some furniture, small appliances and antiques. Open every Wednesday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Donations gratefully accepted. Call 516-354-4969.
At The Bellerose Jewish Center
