Fire Chief Ends Term At Board Meeting

Floral Park Fire Chief Lou D’Amore was officially relieved from service at the Floral Park Board of Trustees meeting on Tuesday night. After four years of service as Village Fire Chief, D’Amore gave up his title to incoming chief Dan Bennett, who moves up from the assistant chief position. D’Amore will continue to serve as a member of the department.

“You had a great run serving as fire chief with humility and self effacing charm and we appreciate all you have done for us,” said Floral Park Mayor Thomas Tweedy. “Given your ability to work with this board in tight financial times, I can’t begin to thank you enough.”

Mayor Tweedy presented ex-Chief D’Amore with a pin of recognition for his service to the village.

At the meeting, David Maickel was sworn in as 4th Assistant Chief, Michael Longobardi as 3rd Assistant Chief, John Florio as 2nd Assistant Chief and Brian Naughton as 1st Assistant Chief.
