The Manhasset Chamber of Commerce is busy at work this spring with a number of upcoming events. The Manhasset Chamber of Commerce is the backbone of the community working to make Manhasset the desirable destination that draws people to its wonderfully convenient location.

The aesthetically pleasing decorations, flowers, trash cans and banners are all works of the Manhasset Chamber of Commerce. It works like a family to make Manhasset the quaint location where you want to raise your family, attend events and commute to work. The Chamber hosts events that draw the community together tying in creativity with the wholesomeness Manhasset has to offer.

The Chamber members include local businesses and individuals who do business in the area and would like to make a difference in the community. Currently, David Haghani, owner of Gallery Couture, Loop and The Gibson is the Manhasset Chamber President. Haghani will be joined by a co-president who will be voted on in the upcoming election.

Lee Tamares, the Executive Director, has decided to resign after serving the Chamber for Chamber for the past seven years. She will function in her role until the end of April. “As a Chamber member, and someone who cares deeply about our business people, and Manhasset, it has been my pleasure to have been your ‘go to’ person for the past 7 years,” stated Tamares.

Tamares along with her husband Matthew own an antiquities book business. When asked what she will do, “I am a book and household contents appraiser, and conduct tag sales. I am also available to help seniors with their organizational problems, bill paying, scaling down. etc., and will continue to help mentor business owners.”

Tamares recently was named to the prestigious 2014 Town of North Hempstead Women’s Honor Roll Award this year and was honored along with 19 other women for her impact and works in our community.
